I shot an interview with him several years ago for an MTV show. He as something like 5 hours late, wasn't friendly, had an attitude and was constantly puffing on his cigar. I wasn't impressed.

besides dmx barks and growls so much you'd think he has tourettes
have you ever tried rapping before?

I wouldn't put him on the same level as, say, Mozart, but its not like he's talentless.

that has to be by far the worst interview I have ever bothered with.

I'm sitting here, in disbelief, why I actually bothered to read that.

He used to be good - his first 2/3 ablums - then he got into drugs and as you can tell, and still is.

Rap music in general is all garbage lately, there hasn't been a real "artist" to come out and make good music, with substance, as something worth listening to.

The only "artist" you can give credit to is Kanye West. He makes his own music, which sounds completely on its own and is original. Its good enough to dance to, as well as hang out and listen to at the same time. He also even brings his opinion as substance and something for someone to hear. Everyone else, such as jim jones, juelz santana, dmx, tony yayo, gucci mane, lil wayne, etc. etc. is just awful.

correction: MAINSTREAM rap music in general is garbage.

there's a lot of hip-hop out there that I still find relevant.

can't judge a whole genre by the popular acts that you see on MTV. that's like saying rock music sucks these days and using nickelback and a handful of others as your examples. there's plenty of good music out there, it just doesn't get the attention it deserves because everyone's busy with the mainstream manufactured crap that gets shoved down everyone's throats by the recording industry.

i'm not into hip hop/rap but every time i've had someone really into it play me something, i've enjoyed it far more than the on top40 radio.

I understand that you cannot do that - but it is still rap or hip hop.
