Do NOT apply for a Capital One credit card!
I have a Capital One credit card and my current balance and max credit limit always appear when I check my credit score (with equifax). From now on I will be very careful in my dealings with this company. Oddly enough whenever the credit limit on my main credit card gets raised, Capital 1 will raise the limit on their card to match a month or two later.
I was watching one of those saturday morning stock market shows on one of the news networks this weekend and when they were talking about how average consumer debt was dropping steadily and some of the credit card stocks might be a good pick another one of the panelists replied "credit card balances were dropping steadily for most credit card issuers except for capital one which will issue a card to anyone with a pulse."
Not sure if that means that they are viewed differently by credit rating agencies though.
