I can't believe I am going to admit this but I was made a believer shortly after my Mother passed away which was a whole different story that I won't get into because you guys will admit me but every now and again I get reminded that she is still around my house! I have had doors open for me as I reached for them (no shit, totally sober too) lights turn on in my hallway for no reason, the Microwave we keep unplugged because it would turn on by itself. I don't know what to say other than I am serious and I am not on medication nor do I need any
i think you should move... i'd be too freaked out to stay there another minute...

In my parents home... they finally pitched the microwave... but before they did... the thing would be powered off... and just start running...

...so they started unplugging it...

and well... it wouldn't fire up anymore... but about 10 to 12 times other occurances would happen... such as getting a drink of water in the middle of the night... and all of the sudden the digitial display would light up and say something like "baby".

...That's not even a damn setting on the microwave!!??

but that's just the tip of the icerberg for what I've seen...

"dead" serious!

really though... my parents have lived in some OLD houses... every home I lived in since I can remember had an ol' Michigan Basement... which basically is a dirt and stacked rock walled cellur that can be accessed from inside the house. The kind where you can see into the entire crawl space under the house.

You usually see these in homes 80 to 100 years old... and even though they are beuatifully restored homes... they have some freaky things going on! A LOT of history!

(plus I had a home burn down when I was in 5th grade- a lot of the stuff I see started shortly after that- another i.e. my favorite cat died in the fire- he was a HUGE tomcat. Ever since- every other animal we own would completely freak out for now reasons at times- like it was being chased. And when we bring new animals into our house- they'll hide under the coach and not come out!)

I'm not big on second hand ghost stories as they often sound far-fetched. But I did live in a haunted house once for less than a week. Some of the things that happened in the house included:

Bed shaking - always around 3 am.
Lights and fans turning on.
Things going missing and turning up later exactly where I was looking for them.
Fleeting glimpses of a person walking by in my peripheral vision.

I never felt uncomfortable when the stuff was occurring (such as the bed shaking early in the morning) but I really let it freak me out when I thought about it before bedtime. My GF and I grabbed our stuff at about 9pm on a Wednesday night and went to stay at my parents house. The next week we found an apartment. The house has been in our family since it was built. It belongs to my cousin who says she's experienced alot of the same things I did.

Even after having heard you guys' stories, I still refuse to believe in that stuff. Something just makes me refuse to believe in such things. If it's not scientifically proven, I will have a really hard time believing it.

I better not see some shit when I walk down stairs later. Hmmm...what if I saw some ghostly figure? I'd probably run towards it and try to bitch-slap it. However, even though I don't believe in such a thing, I still hope I won't experience any of those. :fingercrossed: That's a contradictory statement, isn't it? I don't believe in it, yet I hope I won't ever see it.

remember, there was a time when people refused to believe that the earth was round, but that didn't mean that the earth wasn't round. sure, there are no scientific proof of ghosts now, but maybe all that means is that we have not developed the instruments to be able to detect their existence. i'm not saying whether ghosts exists or not, but only that we are still continuously in the discovery phase where scientists and researchers are learning something new about our world as we speak...

I've experienced things that I can't explain... I do believe in ghosts.

In my old house, late at night, I would hear doors open and close from inside my parents master bedroom except no one was in there.

Again in my old house, my mom and I looked out one night, there was some lady walking her dog on the sidewalk. She was dressed in a long white dress, had pale skin, blue eyes that almost glowed. Dog was white too. I turned to look at the TV for a split second then turned back again... the lady and the dog were both gone.

My dad died 2 years ago. Sometimes, especially on the anniversy of his death or his birthday, I feel his presence in my house as though he's there. Nothing ever strange has happened yet, but its weird.

C'mon, that was centuries ago. Yes, humans are always in the stage of learning and discovery, but ghosts are such far-fetched to me, imo. I'm not saying there's no possibility of its existence, but it's juts beyond my understanding and imagination. Until I've seen one, it'll be extremely hard for me to believe in it. The question is: would I really want to see one? That's a hard one. On one hand, I'm curious, but on the other, I'd be freaked out. I'd like to see one when I'm with someone else. I'd think I would run towards it and try to grab it or something.

PLEASE TELL MORE GHOST STORIES! I'D LIKE TO READ MORE. PURDY PLEASE! EVERYONE, PLEASE SHARE!
