I believe in them. I won't try to convince anyone though.

What can I say, I'm well educated, have a high IQ, don't drink moonshine, didn't grow up in a trailer park etc, but.. I can say with out a doubt in my mind that I have been witness to ghosts, as has the rest of my family.

From small things like objects moved, or walking into a room where the lights are on when I know I turned them off only minutes ago to actually seeing something or seeing physical manifestations.

Call me crazy if you like, but the question was asked.. and no, I am not crazy

I however, don't believe what ever it is I see are spirits of the dead. I am not religious nor believe in life after death.

My best explanation is that these events are caused by residual energy, everything in the world is made up of energy, and I think in certain situations, whether it was a traumatic event, or I'm just unlucky enough to hum at the same frequency I'm more aware of it then most others.

I don't think that anything I've witnessed has been a concious act, merely results of energy transference of some sort.

Saying all that, it has scared the living shit out of me more then a few times, and has affected more then a few people that have spent time in my house. Oddly these occurances have happened in 3 of the 4 places I've lived in my life.

I could tell you some freaky stories, but words can't explain that cold sweat sense of dread that goes along with it. For the most part, now that I'm older and suffered no ill effects, I dismiss this stuff pretty easily. If it's gonna kill me, kill me now, because I really need my sleep

Ok, this is probably the freakiest thing of all.. After I posted this, I did a search in OT for Ghosts and found this thread.

Read my post a few posts down. For some reason, 6 and a half years earlier, I posted pretty much the exact same post.

I forgot about that "pretty people" thing, and now.. well shit I'm in not rush to go to sleep right now

Your avatar begs to differ.

I respect the fact that people don't believe in ghosts because they don't believe in life after death, etc. but I can't stand people that say "because there is no credible evidence despite the fact we can send items into space or have tools that can measure the smallest amount of energy".

That's like saying we're at the epitome of science and understanding. I fully concede we don't have scientific evident YET, but that's not to say we won't have it someday. Not too long ago we thought the atom was the smallest thing on Earth, of course we all know what happened once we started messing with that

I do believe in them, what they are however, I don't know. Are they spirits of the deceased, possible, energy as others have mentioned, perhaps.

I will share this little story that unfortunatly I must relive over and over.

My house is a fairly large house (for the area) and is about ~120 years old so naturally wood creeks. I always hear random noises throughout the house and most I just dismiss as "old house noises." However one thing I cannot just ignore.

I usually live at school but occassionally my parents will go away for a weekend so they leave me incharge of the house (have to house sit ). When they're gone, I always sleep in their bed as its a queen size. Now the bed faces towards the door which leads into a straight hallway which at night will be pitch black. The only form of light in the hallway is a motion sensor at the far end that you can see illuminated (if motion is sensed) from the bed.

We have 3 cats that are very friendly so they'll sleep in the bed with me especially one, Jynx. At night, he'll jump up on to the bed with me, start puring, etc etc. He'll eventually lay down and snuggle in. However, he will randomly stop purring, get a fat bushy tail, and just stare into the dark hallway. I know its not one of the other cats as the motion sensor would illuminate. He just stares, completly wide eyed.

I can never sleep at night...

I'm not trying to hijack the thread, but why is it do you think that people who have experienced a sighting see them more than others?

I've never seen anything out of the ordinary. Light is turned on in a room, I left it on. Drawer is open, I left it open.

Everyone has a routine, and you've done it so many times that the one time you forget to do it, your convince yourself that you did do it, so you blame it on a ghost, or energy, or baby jesus etc.
