Default Do you date older women??

Alright, here's the deal: I met this woman a few days ago, we started to talk and I was really into her.. I casually mention, so where are you going to school?? She said she just finished graduate school, she's 26. I'm 20 (Turning 21 soon).. I know it doesn't sound like that many years, I mean 5 is nothing in the long run, but right now it's a little weird if I went out with a 26 year old, and she was going out with a soon to be 2nd year student at university... The maturity levels may vary since people do a lot of growing up during this time.. I'm used to dating people my age, this just happened by chance.. is there any problems that may arise or am I overreacting? I don't think this will turn into a serious relationship, but you never know.. do you guys have a problem in dating older women??

I think you should just go out with her and see what happens. The worst case is that you both decide it isn't going anywhere and then what have you lost? Nothing. It's difficult/impossible for us to make any judgment of whether this is a good or bad idea for you and her without knowing both of you fairly well. So, just look at it as an opportunity to get to know a new person and decide for yourself if you find her interesting.

Nah. I try not to go out with older women as it'll just upset my bf!

Just think of the advantages (in the US at least) of dating a woman who's all of 26:

1. She can buy your alcohol. (What's the age in Canada?)
2. She can get the rental cars. (Gotta be 25 here.)
3. No big 21st birthday bash and gift to plan for her.
4. She can go into casinos.

Of course I'm just kidding around. But this one is a no brainer. Go out with her. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Don't worry about things that haven't even happened yet.

Good luck and have fun!

It's all good. I married a woman 5 years my senior. I've been with her 18 years. We will die together if it works out that way.

good advice guys!! It's a lot more commonplace than I thought, I think I am just a little paranoid because this is the first time I haven't dated people my age... with people my age, at this point anyway, it's just purely physical.. maybe going out with an older woman will, if anything, be a good learning experience

My current gf is 27 and I'm 22. My ex-girlfriend is even 1 year older then her. I find that I relate better to women that are older as I've been working in my field since 18 when I started my own company. I find as we progress through our career we have different goals and that those of my own age have different priorities. I also like the way that older women have more exprience in relationships so are more aware of what is important to make a relationship work. If that's not what you are looking for though, I would be warey of dating them because at that age, women begin really looking for a serious commitment and if you aren't looking for that it could become a bad sitaution quickly.

Just my $.02

i've always dated older women. i've never gotten along with people my age, and if they're younger it's usually worse.
