u might not have enough for what they need though.. or do u??
I collected baseball cards for one year but have several boxes full. They are all 24 years old now. Ever since the bottom fell out of baseball card values I have hung onto them but since they have no sentimental value, if they were ever worth something I would ditch them. My favorite player of all time, Kirby Puckett had his rookie year that year. I have at least 15 of his rookie cards with some from Topps, some Fleer and some Donruss. I have a few of the Gary Pettis cards where he had his little brother pose for the picture, and I have a few of the cards that some dude was holding a bat that his teammates wrote "F**K Face" on the handle. Those are supposed to be collector cards.
When my uncle died, I was left his coin collection. I was never into coin collecting but looking through it is pretty cool. There are hundreds of old silver dollars, many dating back to the late 1800's. Fifty cent pieces, steel pennies from the war, silver certificates, and a couple shoe boxes full of quarters that weigh about 50 pounds each. I don't think there is any one coin in there that is worth a fortune but collectively I was told by a coin nut that the collection could sell for several thousand dollars. I think the most valuable coins in the collection are worth about $20 a piece, but there are boxes full. I would not feel real good about selling it. I would rather pass it along to a kid someday who would really be into adding to the collection and continue to pass it down. Its kind neat to look at history through some old hunks of metal.
I also have all of the LIFE magazines that have the Kennedy assasination on the cover. I think its about five or six issues. I came across them in a giant collection of life magazines dating back about 40 years in someones attic. I took the Kennedy ones, the moon landing, and one with the Beatles on the cover. I like the ads for the new Datsun 240z for about $1800.
