Default Dog lovers step inside...

So I have two labs, one chocolate (the girl) and one black (the boy), they're both 10 months old brother and sister. Yesterday after a long exhausting day, I was pooped. Went to bed and put my wife in charge of letting the dogs out. Well, she's 8 months pregnant and we have a 3 story place. So she decided not to let them out. In the middle of the night my boy Marlin had to pee real bad and probably tried to wake me up like he always does but I wasn't responding... All of a sudden I did wake up when I heard pee sounds, I panicked as a black lab would leave a HUGE pee spot on carpets... but then I realized the sound was coming from the wrong direction. Marlin went into our bathroom. I turned on the light and there he was squatted over the drain of our stand up shower. Peeing. He looked up like "Hey. You mind? I'm trying to piss here."

Needless to say I was impressed. His reasoning saved me a HUGE mess and a bitchy wife. Gotta love smart dogs.

I wish I would have got a picture!~

Here's a pic of Marlin:

Here's part of our bathroom:

Your dogs are awesome.

When I grow up and am responsible enough to have a pet, I want a chocolate lab.

Smart dogs. My fiance's two cats actually both taught themselves to pee in the sink. Well one did it and the other saw, so figured that's what she should do too.

I wonder how they learn this since (I'm assuming in your case) we don't pee in the shower or sink.

Animals can be weird.

Well, I bathe them in the shower. We have nice kohler jacuzzi tub there and I would not like them to scratch it up. Also, they can't run away in the shower. So I guess he saw all the water going down the drain when I gave him a shower 3 days ago and he put two and two together. Still impressive... that's funny about the cats.

You need to respond to Patty's poll for Marlin.

that's awesome, my pit never made pissed/chewed up anything in my house, but my lab/rott mix is a b*tch (gender and actions)
