Default Dog people please chime in

I have a 1yr old Pomeranian and he has been fine all day...until now. After I had gotten home he has been moping around the house and has been shivering abnormally. It is not to the extent of a seizure, but I'm thinking its a fever? He has been laying down now for about an hour or so and he cannot seem to get comfortable (i.e. keeps standing up, walking around and lies down again). We have seen this behavior before when he ate a bit a chocolate and gum a few months back, but there was nothing of the sort left out that he could have gotten to. All of the doors in the house were closed, everything was clean, and before we left, he was acting like himself. Please let me know if this has happened to you before and what you did to cure him/her. Thanks in advance.

Well he's acted like this before after he had gotten to some chocolate a few months back, and I was wondering if anyone had had their pets act like this (maybe a cold or something). I was just curious because I heard that it might just be a fever that would go away in a day or so.

Well my mom just took him to the animal hospital by our house. Thanks to all of you that helped. Hopefully he'll be better by tomorrow.

Glad you took him to the vet, that's the best thing you could have done. Let us know how things turn out.

UPDATE: Everything is fine, he just had a very small, minor fever. They said all he needs is rest and water and they said he should be normal by tomorrow. Thanks for everyones input/advice/sympathies; I really appreciate it.

happened to my dog before. annoying thing is that i knew they wouldn't tell me much after going to the vet, but i went anyways and ended up with a fat bill cuz they wanted to keep her overnight.

it's really hard to diagnose animal symptoms. It's kinda sad, you just can't talk to them. Vets the best bet.
