I have a friend who has been falsely accused of domestic violence by his own mother. Apparently his mother suffers from depression and is mentally unstable. Supposely he got home from work and his mother called the police claiming that he hit her. The cops obviously choose to believe her and arrested him. He is out on jail but is facing criminal charges of domestic violence which is a misdeamnor in Florida. Because of all the "post-OJ" laws and heightened awareness for these types of cases, my friend faces an unknown future. Mainly if convicted, is there any jail time involved?
