Donnie Yen Fight Scenes
Here is my view. It all depends how you look at things. Even the actors themselves admitted that what looks good on camera, might not be good in real fight.
Tony Jaa's move is more acrobatic. It looks sweet on camera....but that's because the other guys just stands there and get hit He's got strong moves, but the idea is landing the move.
Jacky Chan/Sammo are all about being flashy. While they may have beginning to intermediate skills (since they have to know a little bit of everything), their goal is to find a way to make it look cool and awesome. That is how they make a living.
Jet Li's moves doesn't look good. In fact, they look quite nasty....and I can tell you, he is one fast sucker. He knows where to hit and where it hurts the most. If you've seen his movie, you'll probably remember some nasty pain infliction that he throws at the people. And if anyone seen some of his non-movie videos, you will know he is one crazy fast mofo. So.... you don't want to stick Tony Jaa with the likes of Jet Li in a real fight. He will just wait and dodge some unnecessary jump attack that Tony does, then grab him by the rib cage and throw him around. Ouch!!!
And then there are "what-if" talks about Jet Li/Bruce Lee in MMA. Don't. I will give MMA and related fighters the proper respect. But these are two different class. MMA fighters are train to "KO" someone. To win fights tournaments. Jet Li/Bruce Lee know moves to paralyze opponents temporary or permanently...or even kill them. Either of them will mess up a lot of MMA fighters. My reason......In MMA, there are rules...to protect the fighters. To someone who's looking at it from a black and white perspective, that's like an oxymoron statement. You can hurt them, but you can't really hurt them...???? What? So you can have 1-hit KO, but you can't have 1-hit death blow which both Jet Li and Bruce Lee can do? I'll end it with that idea.
BTW, I think Donni is somewhere between Jacky Chan and Jet Li. And I do have to admit, his movie is getting pretty good. I remember when he debut in Hollywood. He only got to kick a bike helmet and then got his head chopped off. That movie sucked.

i always liked sammo, fat man acrobatics! i still have no clue how he moves like that. see Wheels on Meals someday, good times.
and maybe he'd get his butt kicked in a real fight, but its still fun to watch:

I like Donnie Yen's fight scenes more than others as well. They are just so real and well executed.
Jacky Chan's is more trick-sy and quite entertaining. Jet Li's is fast as hell and his moves inflict brutal damage. Both of them employ too much of that pull wire thing to exaggerate and embellish their fight scenes later in their career. Too much special effect to make the fight scenes believable.
Besides, neither Jacky Chan or Jet Li could act, and the story lines in their movies are so lame. (I hope they don't know how to track down my ip addy
