I was tempted to get the S4 last December, but opted for the A6 with the 2.7t engine, 6 speed and back seats for adults. I went skiing every weekend and I think I drove up in a storm almost every time. The quattro handles unbelievable in the snow. I have not done any modifications to the A6 yet, but considering to chip it, get the UCC short shifter, Forge diverter valves.

Congratulations on chosing another kicka$$ vehicle...

Lucky bastards.

Picking one up today at 12:00PM. Santorin Blue, Onyx interior, TIP, all the options except for sport (didnt like the chrome mirrors) and nav. I can't wait to drive it. IMO the best of both worlds.

My roomate has an S4, with chip and exhaust he's probably making about 300 hp. And yes, the thing is damn fast, he's got about 3/4 of a car length on me by 90mph (no 7K launch yet). It's even faster on launch when it's raining, and you can actually get wheelspin.

Go to the track though and it's a whole different story

The funny thing about this story is that he actually put a deposit down on an S2K (before I had mine), then he test drove the S4 and bought that instead.

I would definitely get the UUC short shifter, if only to place it on my mantle and stare at the beauty of the craftsmanship . . .

Just came back from the Audi dealer with my NEW '01 Santorin Blue S4. Boy is she nice. It feels so smooth and the power delivery is awesome.
