Hey Everyone-

For those of you who are in the import drag racing world, check this out...

http://www.cbsnewyork.com/topstories/Story..._085181937_html

Considering he was a very visible person in this arena, what does that bode for the other import drag racers and their sponsorships? Hmm... Thank goodness I was never into that stuff.

I have met Eddie on several occasions and have to say that this is shocking. Eddie was a very nice guy to talk to and truly knew his stuff. I remember the first time hearing his Porsche in front of Craig Paisley's place and wondering if anything could be louder. What makes people do things like this? Hopefully he will learn from his mistakes.

Im sure it's comforting for you folks up north to know aquiantences you see at the races on the weekend is casing your house to steal your car for parts (and to send them BACK to Asia, no less?). How is that for a bitch slap? I dont guess you worry about damaging parts on a run if you can replace the broken ones free. Who needs a sponsor? Just go get the parts you need when it gets dark.
I dont know how much your s2k means to you folks, but I would want the *&^% who would steal and part my car to get more than 4 years.
This is very disturbing for someone who has grown up and been around racing all of thier life. I want to PUKE!

Hey folks, remember this is the USA, innocent till proven guilty.

I don't know Mr. Bello, but I suspect he's been playing the "see no evil" game. That is, he probably didn't steal anything, but he probably bought some "questionable" parts. There is no excuse for that, particularly if you are the shop owner, but it doesn't necessarily mean he's a thief. A Honda salvage parts guy from canada was recently arrested on similar charges. Don't know when that goes to court.

Personally I'm all for tough enforcement. I had a very nice car stolen from me and totally stripped. Had a hell of an engine in it and I suspect that it was someone that had worked on the car at one time or another - they had to know my address and what was in the car before hand because the car wasn't visible from the street and was a sleeper. My address never gets given out anymore, just a P.O. Box.
