Default Easier commute to work?!?!?

I live in Jersey, work in NYC, and it takes about an hour from door to door with about a 20 min drive, 20 min train ride, and 10-12 min walk from the train station to work. The other 10 min are from parking, waiting for train, etc.

So I was wondering what you guys thought of this for a faster commute from the train to the office (avg 10 min walk)? The walk is fairly annoying, especially when I miss the train and have to get on the next train 5 min later.

I'm lovin it> I actually have been seeing a lot more people on these motorized scooters here in the city. It would defi help me make the early bus on time.

Honestly, I have always thought that if I had long walks every day mixed into my commute, I would get a folding razor scooter. I know I would look like an incredible dork but I would not care. Hell I am 36 an play DDR for cardio and have guys coming over for Halo again tonight. After people got used to seeing you on it, I bet others would just say "What the heck, my feet are killing me" and get one too.

As far as motorized? I would skip that part and just go kick style and buy three times as many. When one wears out, toss it and grab another. But if you want a motorized toy, eh, go ahead. You'll cut a 12 minute walk into 4 minutes. Its not that I am againt exercise, its I am all about saving wasted commuting time, and I prefer my own workouts. That's 16 minutes a day. Who hoo!!!!!

I would change my answer if it were a gas powered one. That waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa noise comng from the little engine just screams "here comes a retard" like a siren.

That's the thing... I really don't mind looking like a dork. If anything, like you said, it would just make everyone think... damn he's smart, I should get one too. Especially since most people walk pretty far from a train stop.

I really don't want the gas powered one for 2 reasons, #1, yes it is way too loud, these NYC people would complain a whole lot, and #2, it would be a whole lot heavier. Remember, I have to carry this thing on the train with me. Those gas ones I'm sure are heavy and this electric one is only 20lbs... which is pretty damn good. I can easily carry that in my hand.

I'm totally digging it though... it's cheap and no need to break a sweat. I get enough exercise from the gym and cycling, don't really need to walk too much... lol. Plus walking with a shoulder strap bag full of stuff is kind of annoying... lol.

You know those folding chairs they sell for about $10 at every target?
The ones that hev a collapsing metal frame and a canvas seat with a cup holder molded in the armrest? Id say pick one of those up because the shoulder bag it comes with would be perfect for carrying this scooter. You can give the chair to a homeless guy if you like but the bag would be about the perfect size.

You could keep the scooter bag in your regular carry, and then take it out and drop the scooter in it and sling it over your shoulder real easy on days when the thing gets all messy from wet sidewalks or general sidewalk dirt. No sense having it rub all over your work clothes.

This is turning out to be a project now... I'm liking this... lol. That's a good idea. I'm going to do a little more research on this scooter and see if I take the plunge into buying one.

You know what... it'll be also good for like car meets and sh*t so that you don't have to walk around as much... or like the race track. Sweet... lol.

Probably won't fit in the trunk of an S2000. Plus the added hassle is not worth the time savings.
