EBAY Question.....
Moyopoyo brought this to my attention.....
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=2458223495
Now, this is my car, but not me selling it.....
My question is Are there any rules for ebay regarding pictures use? IE: Do they have to be your pictures, or can you use pictures from anywhere on the net?
If this auctuon is by an owner here on the board, please PM me regarding this.
Thanks for the help,
John
PS: Big thanks to Moyopoyo!!

I believe there have been cases like this before & you can contact Ebay to let them know the situation. Start there....I'm sure they don't want products being misrepresented on their site.
Good Point!
And Yes...there are strict regulation on how to post items or products you are selling. Using pictures that do not belong to you are illegal, especially if the seller did not have the proper permission in doing so.
If you feel uncomfortable about this situation, you can simply notify ebay directly and they will simply end the auction.
Good Luck!

You can do what my buddy did 2 days ago when he found his car on ebay. The guy was stupid enough to link his pics from his server. So instead of the body kit that guy was selling we put up the pictures of the xwing delsol with r2d2. That was classic.
im really not too worried, as long as he doesnt try to sell my car (which he says he is not....CAR NOT INCLUDED) but its just kinda awkward feeling, and at the same time flattering considering how many pics there are of sebring S2's with hardtops on them!!!
I had a fellow once post a picture of my car with the intention of using it for a hard top he was selling.
Luckily, he was in the UK, and was also a member of this board. I sent him a message through ebay, and he apologised for using the picture. He, in response to my message removed the picture promptly and continued on his way.
I think that it is rude, rather than a contravention of ebay policy to use others' pictures, especially if the vendor places a disclaimer on the ad stating "may not be as shown" or something to that effect.
Again, just my 2c
