Eff-ing stamp price going up again?
Didn't they jack it up just recently?

I think the real reason they do this is so people have to buy extras to add on to the ones they already have. In the long run you never use all the extras you buy.
Postage stamps are a big rip-off just like gift cards. A majority of it never gets used.

I agree - Why don't they just jack it up to $.50, and leave us alone for a decade? This penny per year BS is getting old...
I still got a bunch of 37 cents stamp at home.

First, the post office is losing money. Second, Congress forces the the postmaster to keep little tiny offices in nowheresville open, they all lose tons of money. They are also mandated to deliver to every address 6 days a week. No business would operate like that.
The only reason the post office can even deliver a letter for 41 cents is because of the junk mail. Americans want less junk mail and they want to use email. If you think a penny increase is big just wait until the post office is split into divisions and you are charged what it actually cost to get a letter across the country.
vtec9, we already have private postal companies. You can send a letter actross the country using ground shipping by UPS or Fedex. The post office contracts with those companies already to carry that mail the last mile to addresses they can't get to on a daily basis. The post office already handles quite a few packages for Fedex and UPS.

I bought 2 books of stamps and only use it very rarely. Doesn't that mean by the time I'm going to use the stamps, I'll have to get a bunch of 1 cent stamps too?
