I remember reading that the USPS worker was fired for performance reasons and not for this issue. He is trying to present it in a manner saying that he got fired for this issue.

Cant seem to remember what site I read that on, Gawker maybe

EDIT: Found it http://gawker.com/5688566/meet-the-volvo+d...ailman-harasser

I spoke to a mail carrier today. He told me that the carrier from the video was indeed fired, but not for the incident on the video. He wasn't doing his job. Apparently skipping duties such as monitoring relay boxes and "not caring" about his duties. "They" had been watching him for some time... the final straw was when he drove over and ripped up a residential lawn with the mail truck...
All said and done the lady should be ashamed for her racist, bigoted behavior.

Why couldn't he take back the mail if the recipient DECLARED she wasn't the right person after the fact (even if she had signed for it)? Something doesn't sound right.

And that high-class lady has such a beautiful house - too beautiful to be degrading other people.

You realize she signed for a certified letter? He can't take it back.

If you are going to call people out for being dumb, perhaps you could do a better job of proofreading your rant. I think you brought dumb to a whole new level. Now get me some fries, bitch.
Show me a postal policy (even de facto) that says a signed letter cannot be taken back even if it was signed and received by a wrong person. Say if I had signed for a letter without looking carefully at the name, why would the post office want me, as a wrong recipient, to keep someone else's certified mail? Does NOT make sense at all!

By the way, I'm not condoning that racist bitch, but not being able to take back a signed letter by a wrong recipient doesn't sound right.

That is the policy for a ton of good reasons. Certied mail, is certified for a reason. Don't sign for it if you don't want it, once you've signed it you've taken possession of it. Imagine if that was a check, why would the USPS want liability of a driver holding a check thats been confirmed as delivered? The USPS guy could easily take that check and run with it, and it'd make things very difficult to track at that point.

Don't sign your name next to things you don't want, end of story.

...and as the mailman pointed out, she could easily have taken it down to the post office and gotten the problem resolved through *proper channels* instead of being a horrid bitch to the guy who has no authority to help her. Just like most waiters can't comp your whole meal... you need to see a manager. Bitching out the waiter isn't going to do shit for you.
