energy drinks everyday? bad for you?
Hey so I try not to drink enery drinks every day. I try at least every other day. I'm always in tons of meetings, lots of excel and other computer graph and data interpretation and my day starts pretty early. I mean coffee people drink everyday but is it bad to drink energy drinks everyday? with my grocery card i can get a drink for 2 bucks, so each week it would be 14 bucks not bad....Let me know!! Im hooked
When Red Bull first came out, there were stories about how the glucuronolactone it contains is a damaging stimulant, but those were never substantiated. Glucuronolactone actually occurs naturally and isn't known to be harmful.
I've drank about two Red Bulls a day for the last few years and have never had any ill effects. But coffee still delivers a nicer buzz.

I heard Red Bull is bad for you because of a certain chemical it contains.

I thought I read an article about red bull containing a substance called (forgive my spelling I read the article a long time ago) "taurine" or something like that.
The docs quoted in the article had noticed some negative effects on lab rats or something that were given high doses. Who know how much the give those rats in relation to their body weight and how that would translate to humans.

Like said above, taurine is actually an essential part of metabolism. The worst part of Red Bull is the sugar. Taurine is most popularly used by bodybuilders to prevent cramps while on Clebuterol.
IMO Red Bull is horrible for due to the sugars. Sugar is not needed by the body for anything except post-anaerobic activities such as weight lifting. Taking a B-complex vitamin, taurine tablet, and a cup of coffee will bring the same effect as a Red Bull.
