Planned long ago, we just barely got out of Baltimore on an 8:30am flight before the snow started and my poor Mid-Atlantic friends are suffering with 6" on the ground from 9:30am to 6pm and now more snow, sleet, slush until dawn. I can just imagine how horrible that will be to begin dealing with on Sunday morning in freezing temps. It was 10 then 11 on the dash going to the airport at 6am.

We arrived to a bright, sunny 82-84 degree afternoon, checked into our Marriott Resort and Casino, got an upgrade to an 8th floor oceanfront/pool view Lunch across the street, then explored some really crappy back routes to avoid the traffic to a Costco where we bought wine and cheese and shorts I forgot to pack! So nice to be here for a week to miss the waves of single digit nights and teens days coming all week. We are hoping that the storm next weekend is bad enough to shut down BWI and we get stuck here. Wife already made reservations for another hotel and another rental car just in case.

Jan and Stuart are SOOOOOO happy to be going to 80-something degree sunny days for a week and escaping, even at crack of dawn departure.
Lucky because it started snowing right after we took off.
