Default Espresso/Cappucino/Coffee machine?

Is there one machine that does it all? What's a good place to get one and how much?

If you get one of these, you are going to end up like I did for six months after buying it - Staring at the ceiling every evening trying to figure out why I can't get to sleep!!

Ditto on what Bernie said. Be careful!

The Saeco Magic series do everything, from grinding beans to frothing milk. You simply put a cup underneath, press a button, and, hey presto, cappucino.

If that's a bit expensive have a look at the Delonghi Bar M200. It takes ground coffee or coffee pods (my preference) and automatically froths milk. So, press a button to start the coffee, and another to start the milk, and you can have sleepless nights for as long as you want.

I'm going to get a machine and save money in the long run. No more Starbuck runs.

There are machines that do it all. There are machines that grind beans for you too. From a consumer perspective I wouldn't recommend you getting a all in one because if one part breaks, you'll have to replace the whole machine. Whereas if your expresso maker breaks you can still make coffee. But if you're really into coffee I would definately recommend you buy things separately.

If you don't know already, Cappuccino is basically just expresso with milk (froth). You can use coffee though.

So get yourself a coffee maker. A cheap French Press will do if you don't mind grinds or you can get yourself a vacpot.

Then get yourself an expresso machine which should have a milk frother built in. And you can make anything you want. There are lots of coffee sites. Check them out. Gaggia, Rancilio, La Pavoni make great expresso machines.

First get yourself a good grinder.

Coffee can be like cars. You can spend little money on it or lots and lots of money.

Yeah, but then there's one less excuse to go for a drive in your Stook.

Well you won't lose all that much driving. You can drive to get milk. Drive to get beans, drive to get cream, drive to get sugar. You will have an excuse for driving a long way to get your coffee. (that store sells better beans!)
