I heard that radar can not pick up a speed reading off of carbon fiber....Is that true? Can radar pick up a reading off of glass? If not, would you have to simply buy a carbon fiber front / rear bumper and be able to speed w/o every getting clocked?

We would still have that big honkin' metal radiator. How about a plastic one? Oops! then there's that big hunk of metal just behing that.

Sorry man, but that is a major league myth! It probably started because someone had a little knowledge (you know what they say about a little knowledge) about the stealth aircraft that we fly which are mainly carbon fiber composite materials. However, the reason that they are stealth has more to do with the way that the surfaces are rounded and smoothed than what they are made from. Any solid material can be clocked with a radar gun: glass, metal, carbon fiber, plastic, etc. Bummer, Huh?

Rader reflects of metal. The front and rear bumpers are already made of a rubber type material and do not reflect radar. It will pass through carbon fiber and glass. It will still reflect of windshield frame, radiator, and most of the frame of the car. The best way would be it install a metal plate at a 45 degree angle across the front and rear of the car.

Myth.....sorry, Carbon Fiber reflect pretty well. As for the Stealth Fighter (aka F117) it is largely carbon fiber for weight savings and strength. Top down radar is dispersed using the triangular shapes while botton up radar is dispersed and absorbed using radar absorbant materials (RAM).

I remember seeing a test in some car mag that indicated these jammers don't really work. They don't actually put out any waves that affect radar or laser devices. Yes? No?

Yeah, those jammers are totally worthless. I remember seeing an article about them several years ago in a car magazine that said they didn't do anything. If they actually did jam radar they would be very illegal and the FCC would put them out of business in a heartbeat. Just buy a good radar detector, drive smart, and hope for no laser.
