I heard the math all worked out on one of the first bailout packages, which i believe was aig. If they had instead given the money evenly to every man and woman over the age of 25 in the us, all of us would have gotten roughly 420,000 dollars. So in other words, everyone could pay off their debts.. house, car, cred cards etc. Still have a good 100,000 for an average citizen, and spend it.

AIG then could have liquidated their multiple buildings for billions, saved severance packages in lou if the 400,000, and everyone would have been happy. For the life of me, i still dont get why thats not a better idea.

Now that bailout was somewhere in the mid billions. Now were talkin trillions. Do the math on that.

except...that's ridiculous, not to mention bad math.

first of all, let's spread it out among taxpayers, not every man/woman over 18.

that number is what...we'll call it 140 million

ok, the bailout was what...800 billion.

ok, divide 800 billion by 140 million and we get...

$5714.28 if you start giving handouts to even more people, we all get even less.

Yea ur right i realized that a few minutes ago after i posted. Theres a detail in there im missing and i forgot what it was.(this was emailed to me from a snippet in the new york times) My mistake. Ill try and find what it was. perhaps all of the bailouts combined or per household or something like that. Ill try and get back to you.
