Default Excel Help!

Could an Excel guru tell me what function to use, or how to format the function, to multiply a column of numbers (product) by a fixed value? I'm having trouble defining the range of cells in the column, two cells no problem....

It should be easy, 4 columns of 17 numbers (all different) each multiplied by 92.

Thanks!

Doh....never mind. "=K5*92" and drag down.

Thanks for looking

Or if you have 92 in a cell, lets say say A2, then you would put $A$2*K5 and then drag down and it would retain that cell

Yeah, but if you have to use some other constant, it'll be a bitch to change.

Here's what you can do too. Say A1..A100 contains your series of numbers.

You want to multiply them by 92, so put 92 in another cell, say C1.

The results you want to put in B1..B100, just put the following in B1:
=A1 * C$1
(the $ sign means it's constant)

and copy the contents of B1 into B2..B100.

If you later decide to use 93 instead of 92, just change the contents of C1.

Good to know! I will definitely use your skills. By the way, how can I get s2ki to notify me when I get a PM. I used to get a yellow mark next to MyS2K that said "New PMs" or something like that.

Are you using firefox? If you are then just add s2ki.com to your allowed pop-ups list and you'll get a pop-up when you have a PM. If you're using a google bar or similar I'm sure that it'd have the facility to give permission to particular sites.
