Default Experience w/Motorized Shavers?

I just got a Norelco 7xxx XL shaver and was wonder if people who bought them actually like motorized shavers better then say a mach 3(or other basic blades). I used it for the first time today and it felt okay while shaving, but left my skin feeling weird afterwards.

Wondering about others personal experiences. Do you like them better after a few weeks, are they even worth using?

I only use the motorized shaver (I have a Norelco too) when I need a quick shave. For me, they don't shave as close as a blade (like a Mach 3). In addition, I find that sometimes I get burned or chapped lips from shaving under my nose with the Norelco.

I have a nice top line Braun with the self cleaning mode and unfortunately, it doesn't even come close to a Mach3

All electric shavers require an adjustment period where you may encounter irritation or whatnot. After a week or two it should feel good. I like being able to shave with my eyes closed in a comfortable chair. No mirror and no mess!

I used to use electric shavers every day in the car before work. Since I became unemployed, it's all Mach 3. Electrics are only good if razors are not an option.

razors cut cleaner than electric shavers.

had to shave my legs for swimming and got tired of shaving with a razor, and went and used a clean electric shaver. needless to say, i had to go back to the razor.

I really like Remington electric shavers, seems to work a lot better than the Norelco one that I used to have...never even used a blade though. My dad always used electric so thats what I did too when I came of age.

yea, wouldn't reccommend electric for legs..

Umm, I use electric, it is a Braun, pretty new, but not the top of the line Syncro self cleaning model... mid-level shaver..

I just can't shave with Razors for some reason, so always use electric.. Facial area has no problems.. Jaw-Line is a little trickier with electric, because sometimes it is difficult to have it adjust to the contours of you jawline, plus just pesky area in general to get smooth shave.. Neck is little troublesome for me, but had same problem as with razor, I have lots of stubborn ingrown hairs and have to go over the area repeated times, or it just doesn't come off... I think it's basically personal preference, but if ur in the market for electric, can't go wrong with Braun.

You can always use a preparatory solution to make your facial hair stand on end - it allows an electric shaver to cut more cleanly. I use electric only but I don't have facial hair that a walrus would envy, either... I also have a goatee, so I don't have to worry (in general) about making my lips chapped or anything.
