Default Experiences with Esurance.com?

Hey guys,

I just went online and got a quote from esurance.com. Their rates look great compared with Geico. They are quoting me $386 for 6 months coverage on an 02 CRV and an 01 S2k. Geico and progressive are about $986 for the same coverage.

I don't have personal experience with them, but I have not heard anything bad.
I guess if you don't mind working with a company that doesn't have an office you can walk into then it doesn't matter.

Down side to them is, you get what you pay for, they do not have an accident forgiveness policy and will drop you first accident you have.. at fault or not. I called them to check and this is what i was told and a friend currently using them tells me he had pure hell getting a claim taken care of. My 2 favs are progressive and state farm

Ok I have them now, so here it goes. I had Geico, their rates where better than others specially AllState here in NJ. Then I wreked my STI (fell asleep fliped it on it's roof) and ended up with a "RECKLESS", 4 pts. which I took a class to deduct 2 and the other 2 came off this year. Geico got a hold of this and raised my insurance like 50% more no lie, so I shoped around and came up with Esurance.com. They do most of their work online, and you have to be willing to let them take the insurance payment evermonth from a credit card or your bank account. You get access to most of your paperwork which is accesible onine at their website (which you have your own loging information) through PDF files. They saved me alot, so far so good, but I just got 2 pts a couple of weeks ago from a BIG EGO cop near work, so we'll see how much it will go up. If any other questions plz PM me.

If that's true, it totally sucks.

I had a horrible experience with Esurance. The worst customer service I have encountered in a long time. Thank God I never had to file a claim!

I now use Wawanesa (which I learned about on this site). My premiums are half of what they were, despite higher limits and lower deductibles.

If everyone doesn't mind, please list all "unrenowned" insurance companies you've heard/experienced good things about.

I've never heard of Wawanesa, but I'll give its price quote a shot.

Thanks!

Esurance along with Geico are not required to run MVR or clue reports for the first 60 days. They can quote you a certain price then re-tier you after your deposit.

And just for the record, all insurance companies are the same with different advertising. They all suck

PS I am in the Business.

LOL! i just went to get a quote from that wawanesa company and it asked me a bunch of preliminary questions and one was "No driver under the age of 25 has been convicted of any traffic violations in the last 3 years." to which I replied "False." i sent it through and got: "Unfortunately, due to the driving record of the driver for whom you answered "False" on any questions 2 through 6, we are unable to provide a rate quotation at this time." they won't insure you if you're under 25 and have ANY traffic violations. wtf... i'm like a leper or something, no one wants me.

and just to be really on topic... esurance was the 2nd cheapest quote i got. i'm pretty sure they're just your run of them mill cheapy insurance company that does all their business online. i'm with unitrin which is basically a cheaper esurance.... try them, www.unitrindirect.com. i've never had any issues with them. the service is good especially considering how cheap it is.
