Exxon posts record profit...again
Yeah, I'm pissed those guys were making record profits when gas was $4 a gallon. You know what I did? I drove less. Brilliant how a free market economy works.
These are for-profit companies and are doing what they do well. The problem is that we have been convinced that cheap fuel our right as consumers. Don't like it? Invoke change. But don't come here bash these guys for doing what every business owner in this country is trying to do; make money selling their goods and services.

[quote name='WarrenW' date='Jan 30 2009, 09:47 AM'] Exxon Mobil posts record $45.2 billion profit
HOUSTON - Exxon Mobil reported a profit of $45.2 billion for 2008 Friday, breaking its own record for full-year earnings by a public U.S. company, but fourth-quarter profits tumbled 33 percent.
The fourth-quarter decline is not a surprise with oil

I mean what is the alternative to the profit motive people? You want communism? DO YOU WANT COMMUNISM?!?!?!
Anyone know how much it costs to run an oil company? I mean if their expenses are $300 billion a year (just a random number I made up)then a $45 billion profit doesn't seem unreasonable...
IDK - what's a reasonable profit margin?
