An F430 Bites the Dust
from another forum
We went on our usual Sunday morning drive early this morning down the southbound highway in Manila.
Everything was fine until my friends F430 caught fire for no apparent reason.
He looked in his rear view mirror and noticed his engine burning, so he quickly pulled over to jump out of the car. Thank God, nobody was hurt.
His 430 is only about a year old with super low mileage.
One of the other Ferrari owners suspects that it might be the power steering fluid that leaked onto the exhaust or some other very hot engine parts.
He had the same leak in his Maranello a few weeks ago. Luckily he noticed it while it was still parked in his garage.
It seems that Ferrari has some quality issues regarding their engines/cars catching fire.
None of the other cars in the group had a fire extinguisher. By the time a bus stopped to give us one, it was too late. The flames were too large to put out.
