I'm 23 and never had a Myspace or Facebook account. Sometimes I feel like the only one, but divulging a load of personal details about myself online just never sat well with me.
Did you know that it's now common for employers to search for your name online and find your social accounts, especially if you've applied to them for a position? Imagine them asking about a picture you were tagged in on Facebook during an interview? Then you'll really regret posting pictures of yourself passed out ass-up on the floor surrounded by red party cups because "it's cool."

It's going the way of Myspace. Pretty soon there will be nobody but creepy pedophiles and bands who can't afford real websites
so friggin' true. everyone will jump on a new social networking site and on goes the circle. i have never cared for facebook or myspace or that gay site twitter.but, i wouldn't mind creating a social networking site the money involved from bombarding ads on 12 year old tweens is hilarious.

Without getting into the merits of the gist of the article, I find it bizarre that the author is ready to declare an "exodus" based on talking to a handful of people - literally half-a-dozen or so, most of them personal friends - who don't like the service. WTF.
Oh well, makes for sensationalist reading. Something I'd expect from a silly internet forum post, not a publication like the NY Times.
