Fellow S2K driver needs some serious help! (LA)
Hello all -
Some of you surely knows Sherwin of BrakeZone (S2ki user ID Docofmind), a fellow S2000 owner, a car nut and an all around cool guy that has been a good friend for a lot of us including myself.
Some of you also may know that Sherwin has been diagnosed with Leaukemia a while ago.
Unfortunately, the treatment that he has been given failed to cure him and in fact his ONLY chance of survival is a bone marrow transplant.
His family has set two dates for friends and obviously anyone else that can come and get tested as a possible donor for bone marrow, here are a little bit of details regarding the tests (this is much more simple than I imagined!) -
The testing is very simple, it is called the buccal swab.
It entails the wiping of the inside of the cheeks with a large Q-Tip, AND THAT'S IT!!!
THERE IS NO BLOOD TESTING!
If a match is found, there is NO INVASIVE SURGERY.
Technology is such that the procedure can be done thru a simple blood donation.
Please come and get tested for the chance of saving Sherwin's life at the bone marrow drives -
