As a lifelong Terps fan, I'm absolutely heartbroken.

 

Yeah, this is surprising news. But word is he's looking to move to the NFL, and there's a new opening for head coach of the Vikings, which might be a good fit, given their receiving talent. But I'd much rather see Tampa Bay fire Tony Dungee and hire Spurrier.

 

Yeah, too bad he didn't quit before he put the starting QB back.

I'm heartbroken, but not entirely surprised. Think of it this way: this resignation process probably has been in the works for a few months. So Spurrier thinks to himself, "OK, we're back on track after the Auburn debacle... all we need to do is beat Tenn, get to the Championship, beat UM, and I get to go out on a high note..."

Sorry to see him go, but now I'm excited about future prospects. Great if Stoops came back over!

As for the pros, here's my prediction:
Spurrier to Jax
Parcells to Tampa (bringing Bledsoe from NE)

If not Jax, Steve would fit nicely at Minn. (except for the weather...) or Atlanta.

Looks like he's off to some NFL team. Should be interesting to see what he can do in the pros. I doubt he's going to get away with running up the scores now.

I don't think Spurrier is going to be able to get away with his tirades in the pro game. It'll be interesting to see where he goes and what he does.
