Default Found some Mexican Currency

I just found an old Mexican Bill that a girl wrote a note to me on about 10 years ago. I can't identify what it is though. (I wish I had a scanner, but I don't so I'll try to describe it).
It is Mexican.
Top left says: El Banco De Mexico
below that it says: Pagara Cinco Mil Pesos A La Portador
Top Right says: 5000
It was printed in 1985
Has a picture of: Juan De La Barrera on it, along with 5 other guys in hats
On the Back, in the Top Left it says: Cinco Mil Pesos
Has a picture of: Castillo De Chapultepec

I checked out a few sites, and they all said that Mexican currency only goes as high as a 1000 Peso Bill. So what the hell am I holding onto that says 5000?

Can someone help me out?

You're holding an expired Taco Bell coupon.

Does this seem to fit? Something called a "national ticket"; don't know what that is though.

$5,000.00

Obverse : The young cadets of the Military School known like "Young Heroes" the Armed intervention of 1847, with the flag of the Active Battalion of San Blas to the center and, in filigree to the right, the bust of Juan of the Barrier.

Reverso : Castle of Chapultepec, Mexico, D.F., seat of develops it heroic of the cadets of the Military School.

Dominant colors: red, blue and green.

From series GC the pale blue paper by another color was replaced cream and the water mark was eliminated, extending the designs of obverse and reverso.

Edit: I think what you have is what they call "the old pesos". Apparently they re-valued the currency in 94, so 1000 old pesos are now 1 "new peso". That note would be 5 pesos or around 50 cents american I gather.

I think it was 100 Old Pesos = 1 new Peso.

So you would have 500 Pesos which is approximately $50 US dollars.

Yeah, double check on that. I just grabbed that from some Cancun travel site and can't vouch for the info.

Even at the 100 to 1 exchange, wouldn't you have 50 pesos and not 500?

You're right, my typo. It would be 10 to 1. What was 5000 Pesos before is 500 now..... still around $50 USD.

*disclaimer...... I am pulling this from some random memory.
