As far as the whole "LCDs don't burn in" - Yes they do. I have a friend with a 32" inch LCD that had a video game paused on it, and his screen had a burnt image of the "Pause" box on the center of the screen. I think it went away over time though.

I burn images into my Plasma all the time, falling asleep watching a movie on my HTPC, getting the title and thumbnail of the flick burnt in. Annoying but it clears away pretty quickly. I have a little software app that exercises the pixels and gets rid of burn-in, in max 1 hour - usually 15 minutes.
