Default Free text messaging apps

Does anyone know of a free app for sending free text messages over the internet?

I don't have a texting plan nor do I need one really because I only message 5-10 times a month.

Not sure of any that can shift from an IM over to SMS for free...

you can use the AIM on your BB.......to add phone #'s, type in the buddy like this format:

+14070000000

they will receive texts as your screen name rather than your phone #, but it works

other than that, i don't know

you can send an email to someone and it will show up as a text on their phone.

Verizon: AreaCode+MobileNumber@vtext.com
At&t: @txt.att.net
T-Mobile: @tmomail.com
Sprint: @messaging.sprintpcs.com

Not the best method but it should work

I thought most carriers include unlimited texts in when you for the Blackberry plan?
