Freezing Our Buns Off in LA

This seems a primarily "West Coast" thread...but this East Coaster is LUVIN' the warm weather we've had for the last 3 weeks! (those weeks be da same ones since I purchased my Stook!...ah, soooo good to be me!
).... And by warm...I mean, I'm absolutely, estatically, grateful to see 60-70 degree weather. Mmmmm... And then I look around at ALL the ragtops on the road that don't seem to ever drop their top... What a shame!

Here, it's currently -15*C (+5*F) with a wind chill equivalent to -23*C (-9.4*F). Tonight it's supposed to go down to -18*C (-.4*F) NOT counting windchill. I just pulled this thing out of a match box. It's the smallest violin in the world. I'm playing it for you. My heart bleeds for ya. Cry me a friggin river.
I'll pull this thread back (if our search engine gets fixed) in a month from now and tell you guys about the -5 degrees Fahrenheit temperatures and the 12" of snow I had to walk through to get to my truck before I went to work at 6:30 in the morning.
Hell, 63 degrees puts me on the motorcycle with nothing more than a long sleeve t-shirt, catching the next gear at 11,000rpm appreciating the mild temps.

Down to -11F on the "coast" here in Anchorage tonight, -50 inland.
Remind me to tell my story of riding up the ALCAN highway during the winter on a MOTORCYCLE sometime
Cheers-
okay ironwedge- I'll start with my story in the rain and you tell me about your story on the Alcan highway. Your story sounds like it was colder but mine is rather funny.
Adirondacks, New York State. I had a 300 mile ride home on the motorcycle and it was raining heavy. It was autumn so the temperatures were far from ideal. I had gotten about half way home and I was cold, shivering and miserable. The cold had set in so bad that I was having a hard time riding straight because my shivering was causing the bike to wobble. I get to this town and am riding through when I go past a Laundromat. I turn the bike around and go park in front of the store. I walk in, it is a Sunday afternoon; the place is filled with several middle to older aged women. I walk up to a dryer, pull some change out of my pocket and place it in the slot. I proceed to strip down to my underwear, throwing my wet cloths into the dryer. I go sit down on a bench and put a newspaper over my lap. When my cloths are nicely baked dry I go over to the dryer, pull them out and get dressed right there. I walk outside, get on the bike and ride away. To this day I suspect those old ladies are still thinking about that afternoon!
