Default Freezing in Texas-- WTF?

Right now, it's 37 degrees here in Austin, expected to go colder later, with the very real potential for sleet/snow/freezing rain tomorrow.

What gives? It's warmer in CHICAGO, 1200 miles north, than here right now, and only slightly colder in Minneapolis!!!!

I'm actually enjoying the cold weather, but I still can't believe it's this cold in November in TEXAS. Go figure!

For the past few years, we have had a single day for the entire year that has some sort of wet frozen stuff. Usually it's just cold and dry.

Didn't expect this when you moved from Florida, eh?

[sarcastic]Oh, lovely. I can't wait for the temperature to drop below 32 degrees. I love having to battle all of the morons who will be slipping and sliding into one another. Oh, how much fun! Don't mention the word "freezing" the night before on the news there Mr. Meteorologist, God forbid any of the ignorant masses have a warning.[/sarcastic]

I swear, SA has some of the stupidest, and I do mean stupid, not bad but stupid, drivers in the world. We have the most "Left Lane For Passing Only" signs per capita and people will still be in the fast lane doing 10 mph below the limit!

BTW, this weather rules!!

I think winter has arrived. It will be here for a day or maybe two at the most.

It was hard to get up this morning. I was snuggled under three blankets till 9:30.

Sondra, let me be the first Chicagoan to express my deepest sympathy at the plight you find yourself in. Perhaps we could take up some sort of collection with the goal of setting things right.

[wipes up the excess sarcasm puddling about the keyboard]

Actually, I bet it really does suck having only had your car back for what, 5 or so days now, only to get home to weather like that. I hope your "winter" is shorter than ours.

Sondra, welcome to Texas weather. In Texas they say, "If you don't like the weather, just hang a round for about five minutes; it'll change."

Day before yesterday it was dry and 70 degrees; perfect top-down weather. Today, it's sleeting, 32 degrees with worse in the forecast. Go figure. Luckily, we only have about one hard freeze a year, on average.
