Have your friend call a lawyer.

that's the best advice and something your friend should do.

the best thing that could have happened is that the officer write him up for something less...that didn't happen. now your friend has to defend himself against charges similar to grand theft and/or battery. This is no joke.

a good attorney can usually plea this down to a lower speed along with a fine or community service. your friend's conduct with the officer will weigh heavily.

If he has a perfect driving record I don't think a lawyer is necessary. Im 17 and the one time i decide to speed, going 105 in a 70, a cop pulls me over. Gives me the full ticket and I took it to court. Got it reduced to 6 over, 1 point, and driving school without a lawyer.

Get a lawyer. I hit 101 in a 35mph on a 4 lane city highway at 2am. It was classified as a class A misdemeanor here in Chicago. The lawyer and the ticket cost me a lot of money, but I didn't have to go to school or do community service. All I received was supervision.
