Default Garmin GPS...which one?

Nuvi or Streetpilot

My girl just moved down from NYC and has no idea how to get around. I can put her anywhere in south Florida and she'll never make it back home!!

She wants something simple, not to many bells and whistles. Voice commands and popular areas, gas, atm, restaurants, etc and custom set points would be great. Slim design, touch screen and not so small that she would need to get up close to read the screen.

Anyone have any suggestions and experiences?

Thanks!

We just got the basic C330 for work, it is great, not fancy, but can get me where I am going and has points of interest...

Where do you plan on buying them from? My friend purchased 2 Garmin GPS units off of ebay and they were advertised as new in box etc. Well he got them in the mail and they were in fresh boxes and plastic wrap etc. A month later one failed. On the back of the GPS there was a decal that said it was remanufactured. Same thing was on the box I think. Shortly after the other one failed. Just a heads up so you dont fall victim..

Amazon has the Nuvi 350 for $399 - that's a pretty good deal.

I don't like tigerdirect. I have bought from them couple times and they seem shady... YMMV

I agree with you.

There's really no reason to buy common electronics on eBay. Many reputable web retailers have better prices (incl. shipping) than the auctions on eBay.

If you're going for something simple, you don't need to spend more than $350 on a GPS system. Even the TOM TOM One is sufficient.
