Good question. But, they'll probably throw the box away without opening...

I can think of something else that's readily available, and worse than oil to send them...If you know they're going to open the box.

Not the tire, I'm pretty sure they require special disposal. Same with used motor oil - can't throw it away either. As long as you pack it up adequately and it's not illegal to ship, you just made it someone else's problem to get rid of it.

Oh, and the P.O. is wise to stunts like this. You used to be able to send off rocks and cinder blocks with these attached, but no longer. Box it up nicely and you should be fine.

^ You see, that's the reason why I'd almost expect them to not open the non-standard packages and just claim ignorance when throwing them in the trash. But, the whole point is to do damage by sending them something heavy(like a brick) since the rates are metered.
