Getting sick of Speedvision's shameless promotion
[rant] I'm forever grateful to Speedvision for their excellent coverage of Formula 1, and some other neat programs, but I'm getting really tired and angry at the increasing number of pro-German car shows and shameless promotion of German car manufacturers in the guise of automobile programs. Last night's program, called "M Power" was a prime example, and was nothing more than a blatent full-length commercial for BMW. It certainly wasn't a critical report on how good or bad BMWs are. In another program last week, Jensen Button was filmed driving his new Z3 at the BMW test track in a manner which made our S2Ks look like slugs in comparison. Typical of the heavy promo, Button was asked: "Have you ever had sex in the back of a car?" When he replied "Yes", the interviewer asked, "Which one?" Button came back with "Uhhhhh............a BMW"! Remember, he was driving a Z3, which had probably just been given to him as part of a sponsorship deal (I'm sure he hadn't actually "bought" this Z3.)
Who remembers the show a few months ago that compared the Boxter S to the S2000? Could they have possibly shown the S2K in a worse light - with the car skidding all over the road while taking fairly gentle curves - compared to the Boxter, which cruised around ever so sedately. Urrrrrrrrrr
Maybe they should change the name of the channel from "Speedvision" to ...................(anyone know the Geman word for Speevision?) [/rant]

It sounds like the show you're referring to with Button and the S2000/Boxster S comparison is Motorvision which is produced in Europe. Speedvision doesn't make this show, they just broadcast it.
When that show was first filmed you need to remember that Jenson Button was driving for Williams/BMW formula 1 team. That should explain why he was driving a BMW and not another make of car.
While I'm on here, I might as well complain about all of the stupid American muscle car shows, too. They never show a good Japanese muscle car like a Skyline or Supra Turbo.
I'm just glad Speedvision show the variety of stuff they do. I would much rather see an infomercial for BMW than for a rotisserie/salad cutter combination that can be had for four, no make that three monthly payments of $19.99.
