Skibum, I suggest you toke up before going to get the eye exam.
this has the beneficial effect of bringing down your eye pressure to keep your eye doctor happy and also helps relaxes you so that the tonometry is not as stressful.

wait, isn't that bad? like...let's say you have high eye pressure, you get high and your eye pressure is low when you get examined. what about afterwards? isn't this something the eye dr. should catch?

edit: oh, or did you mean on a normal basis? in which case...is this a valid reason to get a prescription?? haha

the dr i go to in taipei has me get this air puff test every time i go. for both eyes i usually have to get shot at about 5 times total before the test gets good results! you'd think i'd get used to it or something. even holding my eyelids open with both hands doesn't work that well.

yes rusty, it IS bad if you try to disguise a potential medical problem to hide it from your physician, especially with illegal street drugs.
Should I be putting this warning on my posts now "Warning: This post was meant to be humorous. Please don't take it seriously"?

I have glaucoma, and have had my eyes poked and proded since I was in the 3rd grade. I could see how the tests are annoying if you aren't used to them, but just be glad you don't have this terrible disease

I always try to anticipate the "puff" of air and keep from blinking. Never works - it gets me every time.
