GO pistons!
Dude, I was all thrilled when the Lakers won. But after thinking about it... I don't think they should have. They put themselves in that situation after blowing a good lead.
I was honestly real nervous when kobe took that 3. He isn't exactly the most steady 3 point shooter in the league, much less the team. Mid range, I wouldn't rather anyone else take the shot. But 3 pointers are pushin it.. I still say he was lucky

you think he was lucky! while one of the best coaches in the game (whos coached one of the best in the game mj) knew who he was gonna go to. kobe is the best in the league and he's done it tooooooo(etc etc) many times before to be considered luck-marcus
the shot fisher made was luck

fisher's shot was more composure than it was luck. if you watch the replay over and over, you'll realize that fisher didn't just throw up a wild shot, but instead had maintained a good form for a fallaway shot. fisher basically kept his focus and did not get nervous and choke. this was pretty much the same with kobe's shot. kobe maintained form and did not readjust his shot to avoid his defender. kobe and fisher are both capable of making the shots they've made. the only variable is whether or not they can keep their composure to make those shots when it really counts.

you've got to be kidding. the lakers would not be where they are right now without malone. if it wasn't of malone's defense on duncan and garnet of the spurs and timberwolves, respectively, the lakers would never have advanced from those series. malone even made a sizable contribution with his defense on yao ming of the rockets. sure, on the surface it may appear that malone is giving up money just so he can be on a championship team, but he purposely chose to be on a team where he can make a vast contribution to their success.

payton doesn't suck. he's just playing for a team that isn't playing the type of offense that he can contribute best to. i personally think the lakers should run more and allow payton to do his thing and push the ball up. of course then shaq wouldn't be able to keep up. come to think of it, that is what i hate most about phil jackson. he is so religious when it comes to his triangle offense, that i feel he at times puts himself at a disadvantage. instead of forcing his players to abide by the triangle offense, phil shoud instead draw up offense around the skills and attibutes of the players on the floor. sure, shaq may not be able to run with payton, so maybe phil should play shaq with fisher and run half-court offense and then go small when shaq is out and have payton run the floor.
I agree with Malone and Payton leaving because they could not win a title before they retired with the teams they were on. I don't like the fact that they just didnt throw in the towel because this eats me alive when plays dont stay stay loyal to the team. Patrick Ewing, Reggie Miller, David Robinson, John Stockton, Larry Bird, and Hakeem Are all good examples.
As of today the only players that could still turn into a franchise player are: Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and maybe... Kobe Bryant.
As the Pistons beating the Lakers... I'm glad... all this talk about "America's Team and the Dynasty" is stupid.
I wish the Pacers would have did the rematch against the Lakers. The Pacers did a better job against the pistons, but I think the guards on the pistons are better. Oh well. Go Pistons.
