Good Books You've Read/Are Reading
Sweet! I got one chapter into it and am hooked! I'm not so good at remembering names and titles!
I read too much for all that...
And I haven't read any of the Harry Potter books... worth it? I loved the movies, but thought the books were geared toward young kids like ages eight to thirteen or something... so I didn't even try them... should I?
If you're into romance you should read Georgette Heyer... she wrote historicals, mysteries, and romances in the later eighteen hundreds... very well written and she's compared to Jane Austin...
A book I just read recently was called the Woman in White... recommended by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child at the end of their most recent book... Brimstone... I ordered it off Ebay and read it. I don't even know why I really liked it, but I guess it was just plain catching... interesting... the guy who wrote that... (of course his name escapes me) was compared to Edgar Allen Poe... I guess they wrote the same kind of stuff... creepy, horror poems or short stories...
Sometimes it's almost as fun to learn about the authors and reading their books.

One of the best books I've read recently was "The Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett. It's almost right at 1000 pages, but I couldn't put it down.
What kind of book is Pillars of the Earth? I haven't heard of it...
I'll get the Potter books... I really did enjoy the movies so I'll probably enjoy the books too...
CG, I'm such a Preston/Child fan that I knew their book's release date about a month in advance and bought it day of... Very good book!
And if you PM me your address I'll just send it to you. I don't have anyone else to send it to... Nobody I know that really enjoys reading...

Another Preston/Child fan here!
Read Brimstone last month. I enjoyed it, but not as much as some of their earlier work. Anyone read any of their solo works such as The Codex by Preston or Death Match by Child? How are they?
I'm another adult that has read the Potter series. IMO, it seems as if the later books are geared at bit more for older readers. I enjoyed them all, nonetheless. Fun, quick reads.
I'm reading Thackery's Vanity Fair right now. Excellent.
