Can the story be found from a legitimate source? IMHO one would have to be quite the cornball to take anything from the linked site as "news."

I do not disagree with what the officers did, however I agree with what the mayor said. These cops were good about it, but we all know someone would take this "street punishment" way too far.

I would much rather do push ups then face the real consequences of vandalizing private property. I don't get some people and their views

I think it's pretty clear why the cops got in trouble. Police officers are not judge and jury. It's not their place to "dispense justice" or hold impromptu roadside exercise camps because they think some kids are fat.

Whether you think what they did is OK is irrelevant. Their behavior was out of line. It's obviously a problem when none of the several officers present recognized the situation as inappropriate. 'Course, it's Rhode Island, where corruption is a tradition.

The pussification of America is complete when push-ups are considered "street justice".

Typical degenerate cop garbage im used to seeing is that most other cops would have shot these kids then lied and said they suspected drugs, these cops did not do that. If they had shot the kids they would be on paid vacation and no consequence.... but since the kids did afew push ups the people are all ass hurt, i dont get it.
