The two Horn suspected of committing burglary, Hernando Riascos Torres, 38, and Diego Ortiz, 30, were unemployed illegal immigrants from Colombia. Torres was deported to Colombia in 1999 after a 1994 cocaine-related conviction

The way I understood the law he shouldn't have done it. Still, I'm not sorry they found in his favor. I also don't understand why people are saying this was race related...

at least they won't be robbing anyone else but that sounds lame that they let him off..... he had no reason to shoot them in the back.. that is not considered mortal danger...

i would have to guess if he shot in the air they would have been smart enough to stop...?

when do you think was the last time this guy got laid.... holy shit...

A plainclothes police officer who witnessed the shooting stated that one of the guys ran towards Horn but was angled in a way as to be shot in the back. Both men crossed Horn's property. So it is not quite as bad as some reports have made it.

They were career criminals, and they ran across a mans lawn when he had a shotgun pointed at them.

I am very glad that it was two career criminals though and not a dumb kid making a mistake.

With him set free I'll bet the bad guys don't want to risk breaking into houses in his hood... Talk about sending a message.
