Sweet. Saw a thing on DirecTV about their new sat you guys launched recently. I couldn't figure it out - does that whole squarish platform get towed out to sea? Or does the ship take the launch vehicle out to the ocean where the launch platform stays at?

The Odyssey launch platform is a self-propelled ship. It is made from a converted North Sea exploratory drilling platform. The platform is actually leaving today for our next launch.

BTW, a little off topic, does anyone know what these circles are. I often see them when I sit on the planes during take off but have always wonder what they are.

Crops. That's what the watering system can reach. (Think wind-shield wipers.)

Area 51: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=37.800694,-...2&z=3&t=k&hl=en

Just north of the main airstrip. Something was intentionally blacked out here. Are they growing something? http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=37.899313,-...2&z=3&t=k&hl=en

Theres lots more. Just pan around. Turn off satellite to get the dimensions of the "gray" area (Nellis) and turn it back on, pan around and zoom in. Lots of interesting stuff
