Got away with a HUGE one last night
It's funny, I sit here and read posts about dude getting pulled over doing 26 over the speed limit and needing to go to court and getting lawyers and all kinds of unpleasantness. What do I do? I go out and light the burners and get caught going 82 in a 45. I know you don't need to tell me, that was very stupid.
The cop was going the other way (this is at night by the way) so I didn't know it was him until he turns his lights on. I was on my way to a night club with a friend and you can guess the next few words out of my mouth. Then we did something very smart, we came up with a plan on the spot. The plan was that my friend was new in town and this was his first ride in the S2000. I was just showing him the acceleration of the car and was planning on slowing down and turning at the next light to go back home. We weren't particullarly dressed up, I mean this is a club in ENID for crying out loud, you can go in sweats if you want. So the cop walks up to the car, and I've got the top down so I start selling my story before he even gets there. He asks for my driver's license but I hand him both that and my mil ID. He hands back my military ID and says "I don't need this one." So I'm thinking I'm toast, burnt toast, burnt stale toast. He then asks me how fast I think I was going. I didn't lie, I told him, I dunno about 80? He laughed and asked how long I thought it would take to kill someone going that fast. The Sirs and courtesies were in full swing with my "tell him what he wants to hear answer." He then attempted to scare me by saying he should write me up for careless driving and call the base commander. That would be bad. I could possibly be taken off the flight line if he did that. Wow I was being dumb. But then it came, out of nowhere, completely undeserved. I'm gonna let you off with a warning this time. Allelujia! So instead of possible jail time, court dates, and lots of other bad military ramifications, I get to continue on to club Enid! Count your blessings. This was my get out of jail free card. I just pray that I'll have the restraint from gunning it down open roads next time!
Safe driving out there

I know the feeling man, its like being ripped from the jaws of death
. I got away with 25 over (65 in a 40) this past summer and boy it felt like I was the luckiest SOB in the world. The especially great part was that I was out of town and would of had a hell of a drive to go back to court if the officer had to chosen to ticket me. I'll definenetly agree that the sweet talkin thing works pretty well, saved me from 2 tickets already

Running 3 stop signs ... should have gotten a ticket (imo)
Wow, and I thougth I was lucky with getting away with a warning for doing 55 in a 45 zone! (OK, I was, and am still grateful!)
JBoggs,
Your post is the one I read earlier that day. I can remember thinking, "wow, sucks to be him! I would sure hate to be in that situation" You'd think I would be more careful after reading that.

Yeah...this reminds me of last weekend. Going southbound on 101 near 92 past midnight, I was jammin on the slow lane going 90mph. Next thing I know, a cop 15 yards behind me starts flashing his lights. But then, he suddenly turns off the junction and i'm totally confused. I look ahead and there's a multiple car accident and 3-4 police cars. Talk about sheer luck.

can we hitch a ride? i'm sure whatever it is it's gotta be faster down the runway
