Default Got connections to a watch store?

Got a friend/buddy working at a store that carries TAG Heuer? I need a hook-up!

The rubber strap to my watch is slowly ripping and I'd like to replace it with a steel band. However, steel bands sell for $400!!! So I'd appreciate any discounts I can get.

TIA!

Tag's aren't all that... tell me you don't already carry a timepiece on you and you are just looking for some status...

If you want a nice watch... get an Omega...

or go ghetto-style and get a g-shock

Peace dude, let's not start a what-watch-is-better thread Omegas tell time just as nicely.

I have the Kirium Ti5, and could've cared less if it was branded Tag or Casio. The fact is that it was designed by an artist that I like (Jorg Hysek) who also designs some neat cf/steel pens (let's not get started on a what-writing-tool-is-better either ).

The rubber strap is cracking at a stress point near the clasp. So I'm looking for the brushed steel band from the regular Kirium series; it actually works well with the brushed titanium but they cost a bundle.

Still looking for a hook-up; I'd appreciate the referral.

Thanks!

I will be willing to sell you the rubber strap from my Ti5. I had them do the brushed stainless steel when I bought it. I don't think the rubber has ever been used.

And I agree on the statement. I loved the look of my watch, and didn't care who made it. You mention looking for status with the Tag, and then say get an Omega. Isn't that the same thing?

for some reason I always associate Tag's with college kids that might have gotten something nice from their parents for graduation or something, and always think of soemthing like a rolex or a omega as more of a classier kinda timepiece for someone who is established and mature.... Hence why I give them no more credence than a fancy g-shock as I see so many people with them...

but at the same time.. people carry cell phones, pagers etc. with time already on them, and just as accessible. Is a nice watch anything more than a status symbol? Maybe I'd need a watch if I went somewhere really nice that didn't allow cell phones. I havne't worn a watch for prolly 15 years and its never been a problem.

think of that investment commercial... that guy buys some $5000 watch or something.. and they calculate that it cost him 80k or so in investment/retirement money )

maybe good marketing is working on me.

oh... and on the pen thing.... I never really realized what it's like to write with a nice heavy pen till I did... but I still don't have a nice one... I'd prolly lose soemthing like that... my desk focuses around a keyboard... not a blotter maybe someday I'll be able to justify having a nice pen...

I did get this watch from my parents for Graduation over 2 years ago. It was the watch I wanted, and I had the opprotunity to get what ever I wanted. I love Omegas, and they would have been my 2nd choice. I felt like Rolex, no harm inteneded just my $.02, was for older more established people. Guys in their mid 40's. So I guess your association is kinda on track with my feelings.

I just know I didn't buy mine just for the name. I love this watch. It's lightweight and the CF face is awesome, IMO.

I love this watch too. It makes for a great everyday watch whether its for work or for out at night. If the business event isn't too stuffy, I'd wear it at meetings.

RBC3: I'm gonna look into the brushed metal straps but will PM you if I reconsider the rubber strap. Thanks for the offer.

The brushed strap adds to the look. It isn't as sporty with the metal band. Makes for a perfect business watch!
