Got a New Puppy
congratulations on the dog
has he chewed up anything? trip to a 2nd hand store for some teddy bears, get lots of them $1.50ea
dog lives ~12years.
both of you can contribute to a better life so training is important and it should include the owner(s) as well as the dog. the trainer should ask you what you want with the dog. if asked leash w/o pulling the trainer may do:
get the dog fit with a choke collar, cloth or chain. think of a word maybe"duh". so if the dog pulls say duh, if he continues snap the leash once and say duh. if he continues repetitively snap the leash once a second till he stops. the dog is not aware of you, always gently talk to him. at this point he dosnt have a left right concept but wants to associate with all the humans he is walking with. allow him this range, keep the humans in a tight group if not just one person. change the leash from left to right hand as necessary. dogs are not vocal things, they communicate by body position so all this takes some time.
