Do you have a name or home address? I'd stop by and say hello.

If the person happens to be in Denver I'll be glad to do so for you.

Sorry that you were scammed.

I had a guy rip me off for 400 bucks. He purchased my PDA, broke it and returned it 3 months later. Too bad for him that he gave me his personal FedEx account number at some point. It is amazing how much shipping 10 cinderblocks priority overnight to someone costs.

Why did you not use escrow for a transaction that big?

I tell ya, Ebay and Paypal are the worst businesses on earth. When things go well, they're glad to take your money. But when things turn sour, their help is nowhere to be found. And with Paypal, they even take money out of your account if there's fraud on the other side, not your side, but the other side. If there's fraud with the other guy, they should do something about it, yet they only take money out your account and let you eat the crap. I HATE them, but I have to use them.

Oh yeah, regarding your situation, I'd report it to the authorities.

Well, thiss is what I did. I saved all my e-mails and anything that had to do with the change of $$ (receipts, auction, paypal stuff. I contacted other recent buyers as well and let them know of the issue and posted negative feedback. There were about 70 others on my case so we all got our info together and contacted their local authorities.

With over $500 it became a Federal offence since it spanned throughout the US. Our ripoff artist had numerous ailases and stole over a million from e-bay members. With all the info we gave them, she has since been caught and was proscecuted to the fullest. I dont think she will be able to pay back the $$ but I know she wont be able to rip anyone off again.

File a complaint with e-bay and paypal. You only have 30 days to do that. Get their info from paypal (addy & phone number etc. Contact their local authorities and have them look into it further. They might even get the FBI involved in it depending on how far it is.

Oh yeah, last but not least....

LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES!!! I only do escrow and with insurance. CC or something. It helps even if it's just for peace of mind.
