My mom's thinking about buying a used GS400 and we found a mint silver one for sale. Does anyone know any good GS400 forum and what do I need to watch buying a used GS400?
thanks!

I looked at a '98 GS400 for sale a year ago.
The only concern I had with that car was something about the chrome wheel/tire package option. The steering wheel vibrated at 50 to 60 mph. The seller said he had the Lexus dealer balance the wheels more than once, and also tried different tires on those wheels, but couldn't get rid of the wheel shake. I don't know if that problem was just this car, or if it's something to watch for. I still made an offer on the car, but he didn't want to sell it for my price. I don't know about any Lexus forums out there, but maybe there's something.

thanks!
The new GS430 is also coming out this year from what I know the torque is up 15 and some exterior change. The E-Shift is also gone as well. I was wondering is there any noticeable difference between the GS400 and GS430? Thanks!

I don't have alot of info for you but I can add that I had a chance to drive one for half a day and I loved it!
It was quick, good handling, and beautifully appointed as most Lexus's are. I wasn't totaly enamoured with the rear styling but it grew on me as time went by. Toyota can build excellent cars ( like em or hate em, it's true ) I think if the price is right your Mom will love the car.
Just my opinion if it counts for anything

Mike

My family(dad) owned a 00' GS400 Platinum Series. It's SUPEEER. very fast for a sedan, very comfortable and it's top of the line luxury. I think he got the only one in the US. blk/blk-Nav system, plat-series. There are others combination but u can't find another one exactly like that. At least that's what the dealer told us. The 00" model is a lil different from the 98, i some extras, i know one of them is something about assit-braking (suppose to help tractions at hard-stop). I drove the car alot. overall experiences are very good.
