is GT4 out tomorrow?
I just cut/paste this from another site..
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following things listed...are additions/updates that are known to be done to the PAL Version of GT4 (slated for realease on March 9th). And, while not 100% sure they will be done to the US Version, it's HIGHLY LIKELY that they will. (In the past, US, and PAL Version were nearly indentical save intro music, language options, etc.) These changes were noted by a guy on the GTP Forums, that has gotten ahold of an early copy.
1 - Main menu has been reworked, some icons are moved left-right - europeans and americans are closer, PhotoTravel is now last icon on the upper left and so on, but all is there, no news.
2 - Data form both Prologue and GT3 can be loaded. GTP save (with all licences done) clears B and A licences, while GT3 save gives 100,000 credits. Notice that you do not win any trophies, you have to obtain it from the scratch, even the bronzes - but you get your licence "PASSED". Notice that you start with usual 10,000 credits and that all prices are near real-life quivallent of car prices in euro, as I have time to check so far. Most of special cars have the same prices as in ASIA version, minus 2 nulls.
3 - You're going to love this: game offers settings of all mesaurements by your preferencies:
- for units you can choose km/h or mp/h,
- for power you can choose between BHP, PS, HP, CH, KW, CW of PF (that's what I call a choice), and
- for torque you can choose between kgf.m, Ft.lb or classical Nm.
4 - Most important: 2 player vs. races garage is in. There is an option to load data from both mem cards. Still have to check does the game transfers all the settings done, but I guess it does.
5 - No new races, no new courses so far. Okwardly, the El Capitan is listed in Course Registry as 2P race. Pic tommorow, while I have to open it in arcade to check that. If so, very nice news too.
6 - NEW CARS!!!
MAZDA 2005 MX-Crossport - no specs displayed
Mitsubishi 2005 New Eclipse '06 - 263HP/5750rpm
Volkswagen 2004 Golf R32 - 552HP/5250rpm
AUDI 2003 Nuvolari quattro - no specs
AUDI 2003 Pikes Peak quattro - 499HP/5500rpm
Chrysler 2005 300C Hemi - 340HP/5000rpm
Alfa Romeo 2004 Alfa GT - 236HP/6200rpm
Auto Union 1937 V16 Type C Streamliner - 512HP/5000rpm
Chaparral 1967 2D (beautiful car) - 420HP/6800rpm
Chaparral 1970 2J (crazy car to see, the fans are lunatical) - 679HP/7200rpm
JAGUAR 1988 XJR9 (beauty) - 749HP/7200rpm
Peugeot 1992 905B Evo 1 Bis LM (beauty) - 512HP/11000rpm
(NOTE: There was a leaked copy of the US Version's Car List...found on Sony's Site a couple days ago. And the list showed the same exact cars on it, that the PAL Version has...no more, no less. Some cars names/manufactuers were changed because of what they are in the US....but the actually list is the same.)
7 - New manufactorers are obviouselly Chaparral (USA) and Korean manufactorer ProtoMotors, represented trough it's concept supercar Spirra (319HP/6000rpm).
8 - No RuF in Tuner's Village, that is 1% of untrue previous infos I've been talking about. New car, Volkswagen 2004 Golf R32(winner car of SEMA show 2005 - tuning car) - is represented trough new Canadian tuner HPA Motorsports. Still have to see does that tuner tunes any other cars except Volkswagen.
There is also Vauxhall, but unlike in GT3, now the both Opel and Vauxhalls are represented with their own models. Two Vauxhall's Dream Cars are Calibra and Astra DTM, same looking those of Opel.
9 - As talking further about graphics, the screens are "slower" comparing to Asian version. Do not know how to decribe it, but moving the arrow is not smooth as in Asian game. However, no chance that anyone who haven't got a chance to play Asiian version wiill ever notice this.
But, the animated sequences of tracks selection in Arcade now works flawlessly, which is good.
10 - There is a new icon in Licence for jumping straight forward to the next licence available. Handy stuff.
11 - Noticable change has been done in Pace Car Licences - instead of giving a split-time between you and Pace Car (as seen in Asian game), game is giving upgrade/downgrade splits of your previous best time. Logical tweak must say.
12 - Game actually starts day later then Asian - on the 2nd April. Guess somebody thought that starting a game on April 1st could sound like a good joke . Culture differences I guess.
13 - When the new circuit opens in Arcade, the picture of the course is shown on World Map. Cosmetical move.
14 - IMPORTANT - AutoSave Feature: The game autosaves when you buy cars, sell cars, or switch cars. It is impossible to bypass this by removing the memory cards, ect. The only way to "test-drive" cars now is to have two memory cards with the same data, buy, tune and use the car (which saves to slot one), then go back into the browser and manually spread the Slot 2 save.
Decription under autosave in options says "Auto-save can be set to full or restricted. When is set to restricted auto-save will take place only when you change cars." Surprise #2! There is no "restricted/no restricted" listed. Only Auto-save ON or OFF.
15 - First of all few things about the graphics.
Graphics his really vastlly improved, and I can say that after I playd Asian game right after finished PAL session. It is noticable on tracks, on cars, on sequences after the Licences (no more tickering), on pre-race sequences, during the race where all the jaggies are gone and so on.
I can further confirm major relosution difference between the PAL and Asian version in "normal" mode - I have no HDTV, so I can't judge differences in 480i or 1080i mode - PAL picture has better resolution, more crispier image and better colours. Notice that my TV supports both PAL and NTSC. and that I didn't mess around with in-game picture options.
16 - Now, some nice updates towards cars:
- Lightning is FR, not 4X4. Nice. Be happy now .
- Acura is set under Japanese manufactorers. Only 3 cars are available at begging: RSX Type-S, CL 3.2 Type-S and NSX '04.
- there IS LEXUS. 5 cars are in: IS 200, IS 200 (Japanese model), IS 300 SuperCross, GS 300 Vertex Edition and SC430. So, theoretically, another 5 new cars.
